All I know is that my health started improving after reducing copper in the diet. The more copper I was eating. The more copper deficiency symptoms I had and I really don't need HTMA. I look at my hair and know if they are low or high in copper. The less copper I had in my diet and more rest, cofactors I had. The more thick, fast growing, and very dark brown in color hair I had.. Same with body hair. Btw so you are saying tat estrogen is good? What abou gallstones? enlarged prostate, prostate cancer, cysts, endometriosis, ovarian cancer, breast cancer? Estrogen is not nice. We need some. But not a lot. Same with copper.. Btw there is a difference if it is natural process like pregnancy or if it is estrogen from pills, other substances which can mimic estrogens etc.. Anyway I just wanted point out that there is basically no such thing as copper deficiency. So if you experience some copper related symptoms pls just don't take copper supplements etc. and instead concentrate on cofactors to make copper available via good ceruloplasmin production..

@Yura People who had high copper on their hairtests, all are taking molybdenum along with zinc and boron, and b6 and manganese plus redox B vitamins. Look at @Raincoast log. he took it and he fixed his metabolism. Unfortunately people who had low copper but slow oxidation on ARL, I have never seen doing good by chelating copper. Those people need all SODS along with metalothionien components. Only this will restore metabolism for them,

I am not saying that estrogen is good, and dont rec people to go and take hormones. You dont need to take any hormones. And people get copper toxic with simple lack of exercise, and sitting on their ass. Since zinc is spent on taking care of extra Co2. All exercise people are always fast oxidizers. And most of them are deficient in copper.

I am the one who started to talk about copper toxicity on RPF. But what I am saying that copper toxicity is not the only problem, and in majority cases it is not copper. people who avoid copper and lets say aluminum or lead or mercury toxic, they do better on low copper symptoms wise. But it is not the copper which is the problem for them it is lead. And by avoiding copper, they become even more lead toxic. As an example
Copper always shows on the hairtest. So if you you are toxic in copper, then of course low copper diet will do you very good, and this is why I said that Ray Peat made all those people copper toxic by bombarding them with very high copper foods.

People can have very low metabolism because of mercury or lead toxicity, Of course those people will feel bad on high copper diet since it will lower their metabolism. BUT without copper their recovery is not possible. This is what I am saying.

I am not doing anything drastic. I just stopped eating foods high in copper like beef liver, buckwheat etc.. Will see what would be on next blood work. If ceruloplasmin goes up and non bound copper down. Than it is clear sign that it is working.. Btw I was exercise maniac. It is exact opposite as you are saying. It leads to adrenal burnout and low metabolism. Especially if you have bad digestion and you can't eat enough calories. I don't know how much expirience you have with this. But exercise especially aerobic exercices is the worst for metabolism... The worst hypothyroidsm I expirience when I quit weightlifting and started with bicycle...

Yura, I know perfectly well how copper regulation works, and what is free copper, and everything, You need to read what I recommended to people for high copper on hairtests. I'm not sure why you are talking to me about copper, if I am the one who started this whole copper thing. I'm just saying that it is not always copper which is the culpit of the problems of slow metabolism . Low ceruloplasmin will be in all slow oxidation types. but in some people they simply absorb zero copper in slow oxidation and they are not copper toxic. and in some they eat tons of copper foods and they got to be copper toxic.

Copper toxicity is the outcome of not working metabolism in most cases.

I am glad that low copper diet works for you. If you are a slow oxidizer, low copper diet is good for you .

you are not hypothyroid with exercise, you are low on sugar. which causes adrenaline to be high and cold extremeties and chronic fatigue. Since for aerobic exercises you need to eat properly and you need tons of b vitamins. otherwise you get " adrenal burnout" which does not exist at all. Adrenal fatigue is lack of methylation. I hope you understand that most of methylation enzymes are copper based enzymes.

Adrenal fatigue is bogus term. Adrenaline is not made since you lack Same , vitamin b12, folate. This is what you get with aerobic exercise. this is why cyclists all inject milgamma or b12 shots. Plus need tons of food to support their sport.

@gbolduev I might have awaken this discussion with my copper question in another thread. Can you help me decide if taking copper is smart in my case? I am desperate with lots of conflicting answers and I am not doing well.

Nutritional balancing program is not bout copper. dr Wilson says it in every article of his, It is not about copper only. Methylation which is impaired is NOT impaired by copper, but by lack of bh4/ which gets screwed up with glutathione problems.

You need to go on ARL program , why ask people on this forum about your case. you did the hairtest, why not go on the program and follow the recs.

Slow oxidizers usually need much less copper. I'm not sure what your hairtest look like

Because they were minimal at best and the holistic therapist that came with it adviced me to take minerals which are more harmful than helpful, such as zinc and copper. I’ve spent tons on all of this. Just need some guidance in the right directions.

What? hairtest comes with the program . Why do you rely on some practitioner to give you advice.

Hairtest costs like 150 bux with the full program and diet recommendations for your case.

Like I said, the recommendations were minimal (HCL, adrenal supplement, magnesium, Vitamine E and fulvic acid). This detoxes my body, but no improvements whatsoever, hence why I looked for more help.

And @HerrFisch because it’s all so confusing.

I’ve held up a strong, positive attitude for 13 years but I am really close throwing in the towel right now. Sorry for sounding like an emo.

@Yura I agree with you that most people will do good on lower copper in diet, since most people are slow oxidizers and they are not using this copper.
But it is not only about copper. and cerulopasmin will rise only in fast oxidation,

Admiral, which company gave you this recs? get recs from ARL. fulvic acid? vitamin E? what? that is not a program. it is a joke

Contact me in PM tomorrow, we will figure it out.

will make a update post in some days! ;)

Haha. I'm sure it is over for you . this copper imbalance is very fast and easy to get rid of. People with high copper on hair are lucky, it is usually gone in a couple of months. Low copper and slow oxidation is the problem. since that is glutathione problem. and mercury lead and aluminum are much harder to get rid of.

mercury lead and aluminum are much harder to get rid of.

I show aluminum above baseline, with lowish copper, slow type#1, my TEI program doesn't seem to address Al. Mercury tested low.

How to deplete aluminum?

I was chatting with somebody about copper these days:

''I just did a blood test in one of Germany's most advanced laboratories ("Labor Dr Bayer" in Stuttgart). They are experts in Whole Blood tests, and my blood test showed a significant copper deficiency - almost dangerously low. As much as 50-60% of the people in the USA and Europe might have copper deficiency.

We should not be worried about too much copper and "toxicity", new scientific evidence clearly show too low copper in our bodies are extremely harmful. I would urge people too NOT BE AFRAID of copper, the problem is not to much of this important mineral but way too little. My doctor clearly advised me to take 2 mg copper every morning before breakfast for best uptake.

This "propaganda" against copper is very tiresome to listen to, some people are obviously not updated on copper and its positive effects on the body's cardiovascular functions, the heart, the nervous system, the brain, the adrenal glands, the bone structure, the skin and the many, many psychological problems which copper deficiency causes. Copper is an essential mineral and we should not fear this very important micro mineral.

According to the US Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences 75% of the population in the U.S is deficient in copper. A few years ago I did several whole blood tests in Germany at one of the best labs on the planet, and I was severely deficient in copper.

My zinc level was slightly above normal. After taking copper for six months my blood tests were normal and I felt wonderful - no symptoms. When i stopped eating extra copper, my levels dropped rapidly and I felt like crap. Zinc has never ever helped me.

I also suffered from adrenal exhaustion, and copper deficiency was the cause in my case. Among other things, copper regulates and creates ATP so how can copper CAUSE adrenal exhaustion?I know this: Some of the best doctors, MD, and professors in this world tested my blood in one of the most advanced labs in the world, in Stuttgart, Germany.

It clearly showed a severe copper deficiency. When I took copper gluconate supplement (2 mg/day) for six months and the copper levels in my blood was restored, I got 99% better. When I stopped taking copper, the level dropped to severe copper deficiency within three months... and I felt like crap again. Zinc never helped me. How do you explain this?

The really sad part is that almost nobody (not even medical doctors) has the slightest idea how to fix this copper dysregulation problem... Here is why: Although there are numerous reasons for the prevalence of copper "toxicity", the most important cause is adrenal gland insufficiency. Individuals with adrenal insufficiency are unable to utilize copper properly.

The reason for this is that copper can only be utilized in the body if it is attached to a protein substance for transport and storage. The major protein that copper is attached to is ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin is a protein which binds copper so that it can be utilized in biochemical reactions. When the adrenal glands are underactive, they are unable to send out a message to the liver to release ceruloplasmin from the liver and, therefore, copper becomes biounavailable.

As a result of excessive tissue storage of biounavailable or unbound copper, a deficiency of available copper occurs, even when dietary intake of copper is more than adequate. The result may be a craving for foods high in copper, such as chocolate, avocados etc. The outer result is multiple bodily dysfunctions as a direct or indirect result of copper imbalance.Copper. As a rule of thumb, when the sodium/potassium ration is less than 2:1, copper becomes biounavailable

This occurs because adequate adrenal activity is needed for the production of ceruloplasmin, a copper binding protein. Now, HERE IS THE REALLY INTERESTING PART: In these cases, it is wise to supplement with a small amount of copper (0.5 mg to 1 mg per day) for a while (weeks or a few months) even if the tissue copper level is high. But why??? Because this helps restore glandular activity, which requires bioavailable copper. It is like priming an old-fashioned water pump. You had to put in a little water in order for it to start pumping out water. In other words: even if you are really deficient in copper or if your body has too much biounavailable or unbound copper in both cases you need to supplement with copper.

When biounavailable or unbound, start supplementing really SLOW and EASY, because copper is a heavy "detoxifier", it will clean your system thoroughly. This is the secret how you heal many, many diseases. Copper is an extremely crucial mineral. Unfortunately copper has been bashed and degraded for decades, just because no one really understood how important this trace mineral is and how it works. The fear of copper is very, very unfortunate since so many illnesses and severe diseases can be healed with it when supplemented as it should be supplemented.

It took me over 20 years to find this secret. A restored copper imbalance would heal tens of millions of sick people out there. The medical field is not interested enough though (yet), they just want to earn more and more money via expensive drugs which only "cure" the symptoms and nothing more. Please do not be afraid of copper! Just take it in the right amount and in the right way, with a lot of patience. It may take months, but you will feel better and it will help you... You can't even imagine!''

What do you guys think?

Second part is right. The first part is like talk from someone who has no idea. Like he says in second part. If you have copper deficiency symtoms it is 99,9% due to low transport proteins = low bioavailability and deficiency in cofactors. Other minerals and vitamins and amino acids which are rapidly depleted during stress... So you will not fix this problem by eating even more copper. Let alone taking fucking copper pills.. By far the best source of copper with cofactors for ceruloplasmin etc.. is beef liver. It has copper balanced with zinc, b vitamins, A vitamin, amino acids etc.. I was eating liver exactly for this reason and after years ZERO improvement.. You need just tinny amount of copper in the diet, but 100% bioavailable. I say it again. It is not about eating 10mg of copper a day. It is about make all copper in your body bioavailable. Then you need no more than 1-2mg a day. Which is very hard to do, because copper is everywhere. If you eat plant based diet you can get 10mg a day easily.. But not much cofactors to make all this copper work.. Then if you add stress, congested liver, zero bile flow and you will keep eating more and more copper what you think will happen. You become more and more saturated with copper, but body has less and less chance to use all this copper..
